A father asked his son to take a large empty Jam jar, rocks around 2 diameter, pebbles and sand. Then he said to him that called your all sibling in a room.
All the children together in one room. Father filled the empty jar with rocks in front of them. Then he asked to them. Is the jar is full? Everyone said, Yes it is.
Then he picked up the box of rocks and poured them into jar. He shook the jar casually. Then he again asked them, is the jar is full? They agreed it was.
The father picked a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar and all the pebbles rolled into the open areas between the rocks. The he asked to the children again if the jar was full. They all agreed it was. Then he picked up a box of sand and poured into the jar and the sand filled up the remaining open areas of jar.
He asked them once more about full jar. All of them said this time unanimously “Yes it is full.”
The Father said to his children. The jar you are watching is its represent your life.
The Rocks are the most important things – your family, your health, your children and your partner. In case if everything in your life will be lost they will remain with you no matter what. If all these people stay with you your life will be full.
The pebbles are the second important things that matters – like your house, job and car. The sand is as the all small stuff of your life.
Now look, the father said. If you place the sand into jar first, there will be no space for the rocks and pebbles.
The same goes for your life. If you pay all of you time and energy on the little stuff. You will never have space for the things that are important to your life. Always try to give importance to the things that give you happiness and that will be on your side in your good and bad days. Play together with your children. Respect all of your elders and make you partner happy.
Take care of the rocks first, it’s mostly matters. Give importance to your priorities, the leftover is just sand.
